For those of you who don't know Coonskin (& I'm assuming that's like 90% of the people here on DA), allow me to fill your minds with knowledge.

Coonskin is a 1975 controversial movie by the pioneer of adult animation, Ralph Bakshi, pictured here -> [link] . The plot of the movie was about 3 black people, B'rer Rabbit, Bear, & Preacher Fox (all of whom have characteristics like the animals they portray a la Song Of The South) who move to New York City from the South after their house is sold & turned into a brothel. Form there, they fight their way to the top of the Harlem drug ring by taking on false saviours, corrupt cops, & even the mafia. The movie was protested against by Al Sharpton, who felt the film was incredibly racist because of how it portrayed black people. Black people in that movie were portrayed in the stereotypical blackface style, entirely black skin with rather large red lips.

However, that didn't stop the movie from gaining its own cult following thanks to the VHSs of it. I saw the movie on Youtube (well, bits of it ), & I tend to like it. I think the movie's quite good. If you don't believe me, go on Youtube, type in Coonskin, & see for yourself (really, do it).
